The Paris Agricultural Show actually began as the Great Agricultural Competition, which was officially launched in 1870. The Porte de Versailles exhibition centre has been the venue since 1925 and the Paris Agricultural Show has continued to grow from strength to strength, since it began, now heralded as a leading event in the agricultural industry. The show, initially featuring animals alone, presently displays all aspects pertaining to agriculture and farming.
This event is separated into 4 sectors. The Livestock Breeding section is a competition, judging which animals are the best, in regards to rearing. You'll get the chance to sample some tasty morsels at the Products and Gastronomy section, while the Crops, Plants, Nature and Lifestyle section offer workshops and information, on topics pertaining to new trends in gardening, farming and natural living. The Agricultural Services and Professions section gives the key players, in the agricultural field, a platform to discuss present initiatives within the industry, regarding training, employment opportunities, research, development and services.
