The Nautic in Paris, the essential trade fair for boat lovers

Since 1962 the Boat Show Salon Nautique International de Paris has been the key event for boating and water sports enthusiasts. This year the globally renowned trade show will gather together some 800 exhibitors at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre for nine days, from December 5th to 13th. Each year more than 240,000 visitors come to see the 700 craft on display and discover the latest developments and newest equipment for the coming season. Sailboats and motorboats are present in abundance, of course, but windsurfing, surfing, paddle boarding and canoeing are all covered in depth, too. Stay at the Hotel Royal Cardinal, just 30 minutes from the exhibition centre by public transport, to ensure you don’t miss a moment of this essential event.

An overview of the Salon Nautic

The Paris International Boat Show is a unique opportunity for both enthusiasts and professionals to discover and compare all the latest innovations, designs and equipment. It also presents a great way to get some advice and recommendations from industry insiders and brand representatives in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The  Salon Nautique   is grouped into four major areas: Sailboats, Tourism, Power Boats and Equipment.

In Hall 1, probably the most spectacular pavilion, you can see an extensive display of sailing boats, including many new models, some of which will be unveiled for the first time at the show. There will also be a section of this hall devoted to tourism, including cruises and rentals. Here you’ll find all the information needed for a holiday or a trip around the world! The worlds of water-skiing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, surfing and canoeing are all featured prominently in the Spot Nautic. The maritime publishing industry has a major presence, with representatives of trade journals, technical and maritime document publishers and specialised publishers of beautiful books. Nearby, you’ll find financial services insiders available to provide advice on such essential aspects as financing and insurance.

Hall 2.1 is where you can find the equipment you need for getting out on the water, from chandlery to electronics.

Hall 2.2 and 4 include the latest in powered craft, from the most economical through to budget-busting state of the art family launches, as well as water-ski boats and cruising trawlers. Additionally, Hall 4 has a marina equipped with pontoons, giving you the chance to get up close to boats afloat.

The walkway between Halls 1 and 2 is a new space featuring maritime clothing, boat licenses and exhibitions of photos.

A rich programme of varied events

Look out for these two areas in particular.

  • Spot Nautic, the nerve centre of water sports
Various water sports are presented in a 500m² pool, with demonstrations and competitions around paddle boarding, canoeing and more. You’ll even have a chance to join in, as instructors and safety experts are also in attendance.
  • La Scène Nautic, meeting place
Various events take place here, including awards ceremonies, a presentation on the Mini Transat Iles de Gaudeloupe, screenings and lectures on various themes. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 is reserved for the Ocean and Climate platform, bringing together scientists who are committed to the protection of our oceans.
