Published on 10 March 2016, dans Entertainment
From March 25th to May 22nd, 2016, you can relax and have a great time at one of the most popular fairs in the world. Games, rides, sideshows, eateries; you’ll be spoiled for choice for having fun with family or friends. With a multitude of activities, this essential funfair in Paris invites you to enjoy unforgettable moments.
Begin the spring full of laughter
For eight weeks on the Pelouse de Reuilly, at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes, the traditional Foire du Trône welcomes young and old. The origins of this event date back to the Middle Ages. In the early nineteenth century the fair became what it is today; a place for play and relaxation. First installed in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, the event moved around as its success grew and more space was required. Today it covers more than 10 hectares of the 12th arrondissement. Admission is free and you’ll find no fewer than 350 attractions open from noon to midnight (1:00 am on Saturdays and on the eves of public holidays).
Whether you are looking for extreme thrills and white knuckle rides, gentle fun for the very young or laughter to be shared by the entire family, there are attractions to suit everyone at the Foire du Trône. If you plan to spend the entire day here, remember that discount passes are available online, allowing you to have fun on all the rides at a bargain price. Younger children can romp on the pretty coloured rides or the big slides. Older kids and parents will thrill to the delights of the Caterpillar, take a ride on the Daemonium or embark on the Inca trail. Thrill-seekers will get their kicks with Maxximum, Extreme, King, Infernal Toboggan and Power Maxx, which just some of the must-experience attractions this great fair has to offer. And when all that excitement has given you an appetite you can pop into one of the various restaurants dotted around the fair or just snack on candy floss, toffee apples and traditional gingerbread pigs.
New attractions every year
Even if you’ve been to the Foire du Trône before, you’ll always find something fresh, as new attractions are added every year. In addition, special events take place throughout the eight weeks of the Fair, such as the traditional fireworks on May 1st, the parade of floats on May 7th and a Portuguese Day with traditional music and dancing on May 15th.
