Best current exhibitions in Paris for journeys of discovery

Best current exhibitions in Paris give you an extraordinary look at the natural world at night and take you on two unique journeys - to South America and to the heartlands of Russia in the early years of the 20th century, and all three shows are easily accessible from Hotel Royal Cardinal, your welcoming hosts in Paris.

Best current exhibitions in Paris offer a world of wonder

Paris's grand Natural History Museum is always worth a visit when you're in the city, and at no time more than the present. One of the current featured shows is highly recommended by Hotel Royal Cardinal. 'Night' runs until 3 November, and asks simply: "What happens at night: in nature, in the sky, while we are sleeping?"

Superbly mounted, as you'd expect from one of the world's greatest natural history museums, this is an exhibition to delight all members of the family. Why does it get dark at night? How do we see the stars? Find out at this intriguing show.

Equally intriguing is a provocative exhibition of South American imagery at the Fondation Cartier. 'America Latina 1960 - 2013', which runs until April 6, seeks to give us a new look at Latin America with arresting images and the work of contemporary artists.

The third show that Hotel Royal Cardinal recommends to you is at a beautiful small gallery, often overlooked by tourists, the Zadkine Museum. Here, until May 11, is the work of one of the pioneers of colour photography. Photographer Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky was a favourite of the Tsar and took thousands of images on a journey across Russia. Travel with him through these images across the Urals, to Volga, Murmansk, Siberia and Bukhara.

Hotel Royal Cardinal is a great base for current exhibitions in Paris

We'll be happy to help you plan your visits to these shows when you stay with us at Hotel Royal Cardinal, where we always extend the warmest welcome to all our guests.
