An eclectic autumn is promised in Paris this year with no less than three major trade fairs expected. The Salon d'Automne, the World Motor Show, the Salon du Chocolat, as well as other exciting events, await visitors looking for a fall full of fun, excitement and interest.
An exhibition devoted to the fine arts
Established in the early 20th century by Frantz Jourdain, a great art lover, the Salon de l’Automne is a major event for lovers of the plastic arts. The exhibition, which runs from October 21st to 30th on the prestigious Champs Elysees, offers a special opportunity to discover the young talents of contemporary art and other creative people from different backgrounds. The event, for which more than 30,000 visitors are expected, provides a multitude of opportunities to discover and meet painters, sculptors, architects and other newsmakers of the art world. Bringing together over 600 artists to present their creations to art lovers and the general public, this remains an art world event of international importance. During your stay at the Hotel Royal Cardinal you’ll find that a visit to the Salon d'Automne will be an enriching and enlightening experience.
Chocolate glee and automotive ecstasy
Make your choice; the Salon du Chocolat or the Paris Auto Show. These are essential events on the Parisian scene in the autumn, so why not visit both? Chocoholics and industry professionals will be heading in droves to the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre from October 28th to November 1st to attend the Salon du Chocolat, the number one trade fair for devotees of the cocoa bean and its delicious derivatives. For this 22nd edition the event will no doubt continue to be an outstanding success with the general public, as more than 500 exhibitors from all over the world present their latest chocolate creations in organised tasting sessions throughout the 3 days. A celebration of the delights of cocoa in all its forms, the Salon du Chocolat attracts nearly 100,000 fans every year to enjoy demonstrations by chocolatiers, workshops, presentations by cocoa-producing countries, a chocolate fashion show and much more.
Automobile enthusiasts will have their appetites satisfied, however, from October 1st to 16th, because that is the time of the Paris Motor Show. This legendary event, widely regarded as the best of its kind in the world, brings together all the great car manufacturers from across the world, as it has done for well over a century. The Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles welcomes more than million visitors to this biennial event. A special exhibition this year will focus on the cars of the movies and feature the four-wheeled stars of the silver screen. As always, new models will be unveiled and manufacturers will present their latest products and technological advances to industry insiders and the general public.
